Next Level BodyWork Lab
Advanced Myofascial & Neuromuscular Work
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Everyone wants to be more effective in their work, and we all step into our quests and questions toward that goal in our own ways and in our own time. We created this course specifically for Manual Therapists with a persistent interest in refining their hands-on skills. No matter what kind(s) of bodywork you practice or what setting you practice in, we believe we can help you advance your skills. Class will include some anatomy refreshers and some visual pattern assessment work, but those topics will be the focus of their own courses (coming soon!).
We met in 1999 at an Aston Kinetics™ certification training in Nevada, both there to take our work to its next level. We have been fast friends and colleagues, sharing discoveries and questions for the last 25 years. Our interest in continuing to grow in our therapeutic skills is as robust as when we first started practicing in 1991.
This course will focus on the ideas we feel have most advanced our hands-on skills over 66+ years of combined practice and teaching.
Our teaching mantra: Simplicity. Repetition. Spaciousness.
In this class, you will learn to:
We will listen to one another’s stories, problem solve and create working sequences, observe and share results and questions. We’ll be teaching some of our favorite ways to work and some of our favorite mistakes. Each student will be guided through giving and receiving the work, and providing and receiving well-informed feedback. Class size limited in order to give the attention needed to learn this material and take your work to the next level. Please join us for a weekend of serious fun.
Please wear or bring loose fitting running or yoga shorts (no spandex!).
Women: tank top or sports bra too. Minimal straps in back please.

In this class, you will learn to:
- Quiet, gather and direct your energy for more effective contact
- Palpate for clear tissue assessment and strategy
- Create work more specifically tailored to your client
- Redirect your work as tissues change (so much for that plan!)
- Use your body’s sensory feedback to guide your hands (You’re not palpating your own tension, are you?)
- Integrate focused work into the whole body
