Tom Karis has been in private practice for over 15 years. The focus of Tom's practice is addressing the soft tissue components of chronic pain syndromes and repetitive strain injuries. His structurally based approach promotes a healthier tissue balance and fluidity of movement necessary to move into a more pain free existence. Tom holds advanced certifications in Orthopedic Massage, Myoskeletal Alignment, and Myofascial release.
In addition to his practice, Tom has dedicated the past 15 years to improving the field of Massage Therapy through education. He founded and directed the Massachusetts Institute of Therapeutic Massage and has been an instructor/curricula developer at three massage therapy schools. As well as instructing Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, and basic/advanced technique to massage students, Tom has developed and instructed several continuing education programs for professional therapists.
Tom is thankful that through his work in education and practice, he has positively impacted thousands of lives with therapeutic massage.
